Taryn’s Story

Our story begins on December 4th, 1993 when Taryn Alyssa Hill was brought into this world. A force to be reckoned with from day one, Taryn lived her life with a dynamic energy, perseverance, determination, and lively energy that was often unrivaled. Through her youth she was often defiant and determined to do things her own way, which gave her the grit to meet the challenges thrown at her in young adulthood.

A single mother by the age of 19 to her daughter, Payton Olivia Hill, Taryn was dedicated to providing a safe household. Having left an abusive relationship, Taryn reached out to community resources to assist her during this time of transition. Organizations such as Home Horizons and the Beaver Valley Outreach helped her get back on her feet by providing support in any way necessary. The connections they provided for legal assistance, the emotional support, and most importantly the confidence that was given to her was immeasurable. 

Taryn worked two jobs to support her and Payton but still found time to put others first, help those who needed it, nurture friendships, and have a little fun here and there. 

On November 9th, 2013 Taryn was tragically taken from us. Now, we are ready to tell her story and provide the support to a community that was so ready to support her.
